The Sedlec Ossuary (Czech: kostnice Sedlec) is a small Roman Catholic chapel, located beneath theCemetery Church of All Saints (Czech: Hřbitovní kostel Všech Svatých) in Sedlec, a suburb of Kutná Hora in the Czech Republic. The ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of between 40,000 and 70,000 people, many of whom have had their bones artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel.

I hope they try this again (1983)

King Kong’s Fiftieth Anniversary

The 50th.Anniversary of the film “King Kong” was celebrated in 1983 with a publicity stunt that went haywire. A giant balloon “replica” of Kong (see pic: my current mugshot), as publicized, would be perched atop the Empire State Building…

I prefer the Daniel Johnston version but the edited video makes this Waits version pretty fun.
